What?

It is that time of day when I get the urge to write.  I don’t know what I am going to write about, it just feels as though I want to do something.  Today is the election in Mass. which apparently the Democrats are expected to lose.  Listening to either side, it is going to be the end of the Democrats opportunity to make a change, or the end of the world as we know it.  Huh?  I still can’t understand why the Dems don’t just call the bluff.  Let ’em filibuster-look foolish, then get the things done.  I know how to negotiate.  I do it all the time.  But when the other side gets to the point that they don’t want to budge, then you just go for it.  Usually, the other side ends up looking stupid.  Why not? What are they waiting for? What are they afraid of?

My job is becoming very frustrating.  I am just so over it.  I have been doing it for so long, and there is really nothing I enjoy about it any more.  I deal with other people’s problems.  I am very good at what I do-at least that is what I have been told.  But if I don’t like it, how good can I be for much longer?  I really would like to get into another area.  I can’t quite figure out what that would be.  I seem to have very limited skills when I begin to look at other options.  What next?

One thing that I truly enjoy is traveling.  We are planning a trip in June for our daughter’s graduation from graduate school.  This is on the west coast, in an area that I have never visited.  I am looking forward to this quite a bit.  I would even consider moving there if it looks as I am imagining it.  What would I do if I were to move there?  Have you ever driven through towns and wondered what it would be like to live there?  We have taken many driving trips with our children over the years.  We go through some pretty desolate areas of the country.  When we would go through some of the very small towns, we would ask out kids-can you imagine how different your life would be if you grew up in this town? It was good for them to consider that.  Travel is such a great experience-to see how others see the world.  What area would I like to be from???
