It is cold here. It usually is cold in January. For some reason, it feels colder than usual this year.
Maybe I’m getting too old for this. I am sitting at my computer, wearing a sweatshirt over a long-sleeved shirt. I pulled the hood of the sweatshirt up on my head. It feels as though the cold is going right down the back of my neck.
The thermostat hasn’t been changed in months. I think that the furnace is still working……at least the warm air still blows up through the vents. I drink tea and coffee-way too much, actually. But, still I feel cold. My fingers are cold. My nose is cold. My ears are cold. What is this?
Today, the outdoor temperature is around 10F. The skies are gray. It feels sort of damp, if it is possible to be damp at 10 degrees. It feels as though the cold goes deep into the core of my body. At least today, I don’t have to go outdoors. I am working from my home office today. Tomorrow, I have to be in several different places over the course of the day. I am not looking forward to that.
Again, my question to myself: “Why am I living here?” I don’t like the cold. I don’t have a good answer yet. But then, I also haven’t come up with a good alternative.
In the meantime, I am cold. More hot tea coming up!
