This is just a quick note. I feel as though I have neglected this blog much too long. I have been working to get my mother moved from the state of Virginia to the state of Minnesota. A 3000 mile move, more or less, if I remember right. She is here, the boxes are unpacked, the place looks like home, and she slept there for the first time last night.
I went to have lunch with her just a little while ago. She seems depressed and tired. I think both are legitimate. I am a bit worried. I have a long list of things to get done for her, a long list of things to get done at my house, and an even longer list of things which HAVE to get done for work.
So the blog is at the bottom of the list. Sorry.
I will try to catch up later this week.
I understand. That Life intrudes on blogging is smething I can relate to all too well. I will be waiting for your return. Hope all goes well for your mom — and you!!!!! Moving is the ultimate mess and the very thought of it gives me the willies!!!!!

This move went as smoothly as I think it could have for doing it on our own. The money spent for the packers was well spent.

That sounds like a mammoth task: well done, but you must be exhausted too. A difficult time for you both, and your mum. And a difficult time of year too.
I hope you manage to work down your list gradually so that you can feel less overwhelmed with tasks. Try to get some rest: that move will have taken it out of you.
Sending you lots of support and congratulations on a hard job completed.

Thanks for the support. I think the move itself went well, but you are right, it is exhausting. It was a long weekend, and then it has been a long week. It is on to the day-to-day now.

You need never apologize for taking care of the real events in your life. We blog readers completely understand.

Taking care of your mum is most important. I read that moving is one of life’s most stressing events so she will need some mental support. We will be here when you have time to write another post, don’t worry.

Yes, I think moving comes in right below a death as far as stress. As we have already had a death, I think that must officially make this the most stressful year ever.
