It is the end of a very long day.
I realize that the day is 24 hours long every day. But I started my day at 5:30 am (after waking up at 3) and it is just ending now. It was very busy at work-15 kids in court today- then to see my mom, then to go back to her apartment to pick up some of her things, then back to see her before she went to bed.
Today they discharged my mom to a rehabilitation facility. In case you are not familiar with the terminology, that is a nursing home. The idea is that she will have some rehabilitation, including physical therapy, occupational and speech therapy, get stabilized on new medications, and then be able to go home to continue to live on her own.
I am not sure if that will happen.
In any event, she is nearby, and is getting the care and treatment that she needs right now. Time will tell.
As my day progressed, I worked to find three positive things that happened.
December 14, 2010:
1. It was a sunny day.
2. I had a good phone conversation with a long-time friend.
3. I was able to handle all of my cases today without having any really bad results for my clients.
I’m off to bed now. At least I should be able to sleep past 5 tomorrow morning.
Hope tomorrow is good, too!!!

Getting up early when it is very cold outside is not fun. Hope you keep having good days this week.

You’ve been doing a great job of keeping up the positive reinforcement.
