Because other options appear to be rather limited

The weekend is over. The one-year anniversary of my sister’s death is behind me. So now, I move on.

There is no real alternative.

It was good to spend time with my sister, my brother, my mom and the rest of the family. We stayed at an Embassy Suites, my husband’s favorite hotel. It was just in the city, not far,  but it did feel as though we got away. We only briefly left the hotel-to do a little mall shopping in honor of our sister. She was a master shopper.

Today I have tried to get back to the real world, just a little bit. I took my mom to a medical appointment, then have spent the rest of the day catching up with her financial affairs. It is a full-time job. But I think I am on top of things, at least for the near future.

We have been enjoying warmer than normal (especially for this winter) weather the past few days. Now things are wet, slippery and rather muddy. There is a little bit of the smell of spring in the air. I have to be very careful not to get my hopes up for an early spring, though. There is still over a foot of snow on the ground, after all.

But there is the light of spring awaiting at the end of the tunnel.

I’m just going to keep moving toward that light. One foot in front of the other.

  1. Daffodils, Tulips, Soft green leaves, Pussy Willows.
Repeat while breathing slowly in and out.

    • Those all sound wonderful!

  2. Yeah I had to go out an walk today even though it was raining… simply needed to get outside. Well worth it.
