Here is one simple rule that I support with all of my heart and soul.
There should never, EVER be a winter storm warning issued on April 19th.
Unfortunately, that simple life rule has been broken. The weather report that I heard earlier today stated very clearly that we would have a winter storm warning in our area tomorrow through tomorrow night. Yes, let me repeat that in case you do not believe me. There is a prediction for a total of 3-5 in. of snow from late tonight through late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
In and of itself, having a snowstorm on April 19th is bad enough. But we have only seen the grass for a week or so. Up until then, the ground had been covered in snow since November 13th.
ENOUGH, ENOUGH, already!
Would anyone be able to see my little white flag fluttering above the snow?
And would it matter?

It’s ninety degrees here, so it’s hard to imagine snow – it’s supposed to be spring, after all! You’ll get to tell me about you pleasant temperatures while I’m roasting in June-September 😉

You are right. It is usually pleasant here most of the summer. Luckily, most of the snow went south of us.

You had grass?!? You can keep the snow. We are losing the 5″ we got over the weekend, but we are supposed to get some backwash (lake effect) from YOUR storm. There is really no need to share. We have more than enough, thank you.

Snow in April is not fun. I tell you what else is not fun is to be awaken at 2:15 am by sirens because a tornado is coming our way – then turning on the TV and watching 3 different tornadoes coming toward us, then hearing pine trees falling – it’s a soft but powerful noise. That happened twice already last week and we will get some more for many months. We used to hear the sirens once every couple of years but now it is often.
