Back, in a way

I am back from an awesome trip. Whew! We rolled into the driveway earlier this evening. Over 3000 more miles on the car, all driven by the husband, with my butt in the seat.

Over the next couple of days I will be doing laundry, repacking my nephew’s clothes and taking him to meet my sister halfway between her home and mine. Then it is back to work on Thursday. I hate to even think of it-but, of course, you can see that I am.

The mountains were cool and beautiful. Why, oh, why am I living in this flat, boring area of geographical nothingness? I am only going to do a very short post right now, then will catch up with the rest of you. I’ll get a longer one up soon. The next couple of days will be busy.

I will leave you with this-for those of you sweltering in the awfully hot summer weather here in the States-there is still about 20 feet of snow at the top of Logan Pass in Glacier National Park. That may be normal in other mountainous areas, but not there. It was amazing.

I’ve got a ton of photos to go through. I will post the best of the lot within a few days.

  1. I’m glad you had fun. Can’t wait to see the pics!

  2. Glad you had a good time! And that you all made it back safe and sound. 😉

It’s been unseasonably cool in a lot of mountain areas this year. I know there is still roughly 5 feet of snow at the trail head for Shasta … it’s usually completely melted by now. I just hope it melts off in the next couple of weeks.

  3. Welcome back and am looking forward to the pictures. That tears it, Glacier National Park is now on my wish list as a summer retreat.

  4. You can’t go wrong with pictures of snow and mountains and anything that hints of coolness. Throw ’em up here, girl, and I’ll be appreciative!

Makes my butt hurt to think about your trip, though.

  5. Glad you had fun!!!

  6. Welcome home! I’m happy you had an awesome time! Looking forward to the pictures!

  7. Glacier..so beautiful. I’m so glad you got away and could refresh your soul at the mountains. Looking forward to your pictures, and the story of the trip.

    • I would love to see the park from the sky. If you fly over, please take photos to share!
