Ah one, and ah two, and ah THREE!

Three years ago today, I started this blog.

I know for sure, because Word Press sent me a note to say “Happy Anniversary!” It’s nice when someone remembers your anniversary.

During the past three years, there have been many changes in my life. There have been deaths, graduations, job changes, moves, births, school ending, school starting, relationships ending and new ones starting in my family since that first post.

I entered the blogging world simply to have an outlet for writing. Here is my original post. Nothing to brag about! I think I have expanded a bit since then.

My little blog has just a few regular readers/commenters. I love all of them! I feel as though I have a circle of good friends with whom I discuss the things happening in my life. Or things that are happening in the world. It’s very enjoyable. I especially enjoy reading the blogs that others write. It certainly humbles me. There are so many wonderful writers out there that I could read blogs 24 hours a day and never be bored. Blurry eyed, maybe, but not bored!

So here I am a my age with a three-year old. A preschooler in the blogging world. In so many ways, I am just getting started, just hitting my stride here. A three-year old should be growing quickly.

But this blog is not really growing. And that’s fine with me. I don’t like crowds. I hate big parties. I don’t do well talking to a large group. So I won’t be linking it to facebook, or putting it on big search engines. I don’t want people I know  in the “real world” to read the blog. I don’t want to have to explain or apologize for things that I write. If more people read this, that’s great. I do enjoy seeing the stats go up. But it’s okay if they don’t.

So my little preschooler of a blog will just continue to move along. I may post a lot, and I may not. I started this because I thought I would enjoy it. When I don’t enjoy it, I won’t do it.

Thanks to all of you who stop by regularly. It means a lot to me to have gained your friendship. If you comment, all the better! I hope you will continue to visit.

  1. Congrats! I’ve always enjoyed your work here.

    • Thanks. I really appreciate that.

  2. Happy Blogiversary! I don’t always comment on your blog, but I do always read it. Keep it up!

    • Glad to know you stop in. Thanks.

  3. Congrats…I always enjoy seeing your posts in my reader. I like your attitude about writing if you enjoy it, not writing if you don’t. It shouldn’t seem like a chore!

    • Thanks! I generally am not good about doing things I don’t enjoy.

  4. Happy Blogiversary! Nice of WordPress to say so – Blogger never does. I’ll hit 7 years this summer, which seems absurd to me.

    • I think that this is the first time I’ve gotten a notice. It may be a new thing. There are lots of new things on wp right now. Seven years is a long time for a blog-just think how much your boys have changed in 7 years.

  5. Happy Third Birthday. Blogger doesn’t say anything. How nice you know.

    • Thanks…this year I did remember, but got a note, too. It’s a nice little feature.

  6. It is like a circle of friends, isn’t it? Congrats on your anniversary!

    • Yes, it is like being in a group….not the jocks, or the tough kids. Maybe we are the nerds…the writers and readers probably become the bloggers!

  7. Congratulations on three years!

    • Thanks!

  8. Congrats on the three years! I hope you continue to enjoy it because I like reading your posts 🙂

    • Thanks-I enjoy reading yours as well!

  9. Happy third! Here’s to many more!

    • Thank you!

  10. Missed this post. I enjoy reading your blog, learning about what you think and feel. Hope you keep going for another 3 years…at least!

    • Yeah, not sure how many more it will be, but so far, so good. Hope you have some new flying adventures to report soon.
