Enough already!

When will I learn?

Why do I live here?

I have no idea. And it’s even more crazy and stupid given the fact that it is April 18th.

And it looks like this outside:

The street in our subdivision today.

The street in our subdivision today.

Our street this afternoon driving home.

Our street this afternoon driving home.

This is completely crazy. Unacceptable. Depressing. Disgusting. Horrible.

And yet I have lived here for most of my life.

The fact that I stay here says more about me than I care to acknowledge.

The snow is still coming down, at times it is horizontal due to the wind. It is a heavy, wet snow which makes driving extremely difficult and dangerous. It turns icy on the pavement. When you can see the pavement.

The weather forecast calls for a sunny day on Saturday. We are clinging to that. But the predicted high temperature is 39 F with rain on Sunday. Now that’s something to look forward to.

A friend tried to make a list of the good side of this late winter. I have a hard time seeing any positives.

But at least we have everyone else’s pity.

  1. Yikes!!!! It’s been known to happen in Ohio, too!

  2. It looked like that here in Denver yesterday

  3. Since I don’t have to live it, I can enjoy the pictures. The snow is pretty, but it is April…I wish the weather would give you a break.

    • If it’s any comfort, I woke up snow on the ground — not a lot but we usually don’t see it after my birthday here in Ohio. And yes, I’m pretty crabby about it!!!!

  4. I, on the other hand, have not worn anything but shorts for the last 2 months. I’m busy planting cactus in the yard since those are sorta guaranteed to live through summers deadly heat. Just remember that in July when your enjoying outdoor BBQ’s I’ll be huddled inside running up electric bills with air conditioning to avoid 112 degree heat.
Is there a place somewhere on this planet where we can enjoy upper 70’s all year round?

  5. Love seeing the snow but glad I no longer live in the Snowbelt.

  6. Oh my God. Yes, you have my deepest sympathies!

  7. Your photos tell a sad story. How distressing.

  8. We’ve been having similar weather here in Wisconsin, but it looks like we are past the snow. Of course, tonight the low is 30 degrees and we are expecting rain. 🙂

  9. I have been watching the weather in your area. Dreadful dreadful dreadful! Spring will come – you can’t stop it! (but it sure is getting slowed down this year!).
